Japan wave soll doch irgendwie starten hatte ben Profit gemeint
Aber vermutlich nicht als pwa Event
Slalom X
The PWA is excited to announce a new evolution in Slalom for 2024. Slalom X!
The divergence of fin and foil has grown to a point where they have both earned their own roles in our amazing and diverse sport, so for 2024, There will be 2 separate disciplines. Foil Slalom and Slalom X.
Foil Slalom will continue to offer the purest form of racing, driving innovation and technological advancement at the cutting edge of competition, ensuring action across the widest wind range. Foil Slalom embodies the most intense battles, biggest risks and biggest rewards for the highest performing athletes in windsurf racing and will take place at all PWA slalom events.
Slalom X will liberate the discipline from its hi tech partnership with foil, and see the rebirth of fin slalom. Like the World Rally Championship, to Formula 1 in motor sport, Slalom X will bring a different dimension to racing, testing athletes to the max.
Reserved only for high wind destinations, such as Gran Canaria or Fuerteventura, a new spectrum of features become available, generating possibilities not seen before in slalom, and putting the action into overdrive.
The end result will be the biggest test of all-round ability on the race course, creating a spectacle that cannot be ignored.
For further details please see the Slalom X presentation HERE
Auch vom Ökologischen her.

Nur was kam danach?

Dear Friends
The PWA is happy to announce the schedule for the 2024 PWA World Tour, including the Unified PWA / IWT World Tour.
Kind regards
The PWA
Dear Sailors
We were unfortunately forced to postpone the PWA AGM planned for 18th January due to several last minute complications.
In order to proceed most correctly, we will have a meeting for rider members only, followed by a separate meeting for the industry members only, followed by a concluding meeting with all together to finalise issues and voting on anything that requires it.
The meetings will be scheduled as follows:
Rider Members: Tuesday 13th February
Industry Members: Thursday 15th February
Joint Meeting: Thursday 22nd February
One issue that came up ahead of the planned meeting was a proposal to potentially make changes to the way that the PWA Board is structured and elected, according to the constitution.
Currently only sailor representatives on the Board can hold the position of Chairman of the Board. The Board was set up in this way when the PWA was created to ensure a small majority for riders on the Board, compared to the industry presence, so that issues could not be pushed through if the rider representatives were not in agreement.
A change to the constitution was made by the riders at the AGM in 2019, to allow an existing chairman to continue to stand for election even if they were no longer competing, so as not to lose the wealth of experience and knowledge of an existing chairman. This is why the current Chairman, Jimmy Diaz, has been qualified to stand for election in recent years even though he has not been competing on the tour anymore.
Jimmy Diaz will be stepping down after the elections, after 20 years as Chairman during which he has dedicated his time and energy to pushing the association and the sport forwards. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Jimmy for his commitment and endless energy that he has contributed throughout that time.
There is now another proposal to open up the position of Chairman of the Management Board to a wider range of people so as not to limit the options and possibilities for the association. However, this requires a change in the constitution, which has to be voted on by the members.
With that in mind, we would like you to give your consideration to the following options ahead of the meetings, so that we can vote on them and move forwards accordingly in due course.
Option 1
To retain the existing structure where 4 Board Members are elected from the rider membership, by the riders. And 3 members from the industry membership, elected by the industry, with the chairman being one of the rider members of the Management Board.
Option 2
To change the constitution to allow any individual to stand for election for the position of Chairman of the Management Board. The make up of the Board would then be changed to have 3 rider members and 3 industry members plus a Chairman, who could potentially be a rider, an industry member, or anyone if they chose to stand and were elected.
This would potentially change the balance of the Management Board to mean that there are 4 industry representatives and only 3 rider representatives, if an industry member was elected as Chairman but, in all cases whether rider, industry, existing chairman, or someone else, they would still need to be elected by the members, and the board would still be made up of 7 voting members.
There will be other matters to discuss on the night and riders and brands should feel free to submit items for the agenda if they wish, but as these are fundamental changes to the structure and the constitution of the PWA, we want to make sure that everyone has had time to consider them.
We look forward to seeing you all in the meetings soon.
We will send out linksfor the meetings in the near future.
Kind regards
The PWA
