    Bei meinen 91 und 78 Foil-SL Boards verschiebe ich den Mastfuß zum Heck hin, wenn ich auf kleinere Riggs wechsel - also genauso wie beim SL-Surfen (1 qm = 2 cm ca.).


    Auf Seabreeze gibts jetzt eine Diskussion dazu, die in folgendem Satz kulminierte:

    "A bigger sail puts more weight on the mast foot, so you can move it back"


    Was ist eure Meinung und Erfahrung dazu?


    Ich habe mir beim Fanatic Forum die Ratschläge von Jordy angeschaut da ich auch den Falcon fahre. Er sagt dort Abhängig von Fuselage unabhängig von Segelgröße. Die Begründung mit den Segeln klingt aber auch irgendwie schlüssig :/

    Kleinere Riggs haben meist kürzere Fuselages - aber zwischen CR und SL-Fuses gibts Unterschiede bez. der Position des Frontflügels (wie weit vorne).


    Meint er bei kürzeren Fuses den mastfuß eher nach vorne oder hinten?

    Genau die Frage habe ich im Fanatic Forum gestellt. Jordy Vonk sagt, er verändert die Position bei der gleichen Fuselage nicht.

    Wenn, würde ich auch bei kleinerem Segel den Mastfuss etwas nach vorne geben, mache ich beim Freeracesurfen auch so.

    I feel the masttrack position is very depending on the length of the fuselage, short = more to the back, long = more to the front.

    In this case with the 115+ I recommend to start around 133 and go from there.

    footstraps positions I would say the back straps all the way to the back, the front ones one more to the front. Myself I’m using the outside holes on the backfoot, for a bit easier start you can use the inside holes!

    The power from the sail is one thing, but I also believe the power from the foil is very important! I usually use my mastbase in the front with a long fuselage (105 to 115cm) and more to the back with a short fuselage (100cm). It's a pretty sensitive tuning part! You can create a lot of stability out of using the right mastbase position, so make sure you try a lot yourself. But my setting is just behind the middle on a short fueslage, and more to the front with a longer fuse!

    I'm not really changing the position much for a sailsize. as I also use different wings with a sailsize. For example a 620cm2 with 8.9 , 560 cm2 with 7.9 + 6.9 and 420cm2 with smaller, pretty much using the same position depending on the fuselage!

    Auf meinem 91 habe ich die Fuses in 115 und 105 cm = das würde erklären, warum ich den Mastfuß 2 cm nach hinten nehme - nicht wegen dem kleineren Rigg sondern wegen der kürzeren Fuse.


    Auf dem 78 habe ich alle Foils (750-500 cm2) auf 101 cm - okay, dann müsste die Riggs an der einen perfekten Mastfußposition bleiben :-)
