-
Totti!!! ???

Steht da was anderes?

As discussed at the AGM at Sylt, many sailors, who rely primarily on their salaries from the manufacturers, have been concerned that they will not be able to afford to continue to compete on the tour in coming years. This is mainly due to increased costs for travel etc. and diminishing incomes from the industry.
Despite current concerns over the world economy, the PWA itself is continuing to flourish with new events happening and increasing media interest and sponsor possibilities. However, without you, the competitors, the tour cannot exist. Therefore, the PWA board has been discussing several possibilities to try to protect the livelihood of those sailors who compete full time and professionally on tour.
Of all the suggestions that have been discussed, the most feasible and effective option in consideration, is a restructuring of the prize money breakdowns at events so that more sailors receive at least enough prize money to seriously contribute to their costs.
The only feasible way to do this is to reallocate money in a way less weighted towards the top sailors and more evenly spread further down the fleet.
If you look at the attached breakdown comparison, you can see that, in the proposed breakdown, anyone in the top 24 would receive at least €765, which should make a considerable difference to their ability to afford to compete. The downside is that the rewards for finishing higher up the fleet will not be as great. Although sailors finishing in the top 9 will actually be worse off, in general, they are likely to be sailors who receive bigger salaries from their sponsors and, for those who do not receive bigger sponsorship, they will still receive an amount of money that will make a big difference in covering costs.
This idea is being proposed to try to safeguard the continuation of the tour during what are tough times for most people the world over. Without competitors, the tour and all its sailors – top ten and below, cannot exist. Although event winners deserve the existing amounts, they will not get anything without anyone to compete against!
Before implementing a new structure that directly affects riders, we are keen to have your opinions on the matter, so please take a look through the attached proposed breakdown and consider the implications – not only for yourselves but for the tour as a whole, and let us have any comments as soon as possible to info@pwaworldtour.com
We look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards

Bin mal Eurocup gefahren, da wars kein Problem. Also 100% ja? oder nein?
