The masts haven't changed from 2013.
The outline has changed on the slalom sails that is true, but on the leech side of the sail only.

This year we have changed the 2 central cams on the AC-1 for a new longer version which gives more leverage to the battens and gives us a lighter rotation. With the old cambers rotation was good, but the cam pressure had to be very precise to have perfect rotation. With these new cambers you can also have too much tension on the cambers and the sail will still rotate easy.

    indietro means behind, back
Depends on the content.... like with avanti
it can also mean more.. but alone it doesnt really make much sense, as it doesn't necessarily mean that you are in the front, which i guess was hoped ;)

Wieso fährt der Angulo in diesem Winkel an die Tonne ran. Wollte der evtl. mit ner Airjibe halsen???
Video taucht sicher früher oder später in der youtube auf

Josh was holding his line, Bjoern isnt even ready to jibe at this point, as his front foot is still in the front footstrap. He was trying to cut in and get infront of everyone else. I dont even think he had seen Josh before going down towards the mark.

Understandable that BD was hungry for a win, as this event didnt go his way at all. Not one single elimination won, 10 points behind number 10... Not an easy position to be in if you want to win the world tour...

kann man irgendwann nicht sagen, dass die, denen das AC-K zu weich ist ein AC-1 kaufen sollen?

    Not really,
The difference between a wide sleeve race sail and a mid sized sleeve 'free-race' sail is not the cam pressure. Both sails require the same amount of cam pressure to lock the profile.

The AC-1 in comparison to the AC-K has a 3 times wider mast sleeve. The depth of the sail profile is almost equal to the width of the boom.
With such a deep and wide profile, the sail isn't easy to handle but it gives a lot of stability in overpowered conditions.
The AC-K isn't made to be used super overpowered, so we can lock the profile sufficiently with a smaller sleeve to sustain stability and lock the profile with a much smaller mast sleeve.
For those who do not go super overpowered all the time, the AC-K is the best sail of choice. For those who look for that extra performance in overpowered conditions the AC-1 is the right choice.

Again, the AC-k is a more user friendly sail because of the smaller mast sleeve and less locked profile. not because of more or less cam pressure.
If you take out too much cam pressure, then the function of the cambers is being reduced. The cambers are in the sail to give a fixed profile both in light wind and in strong wind. So having too loose cambers will only make the profile wander around.

We stopped producing the AC-2 because the AC-K has all the same qualities as the AC-2, but in a more compact design. The AC-2 was without a doubt a great series of sails with a lot of top speed potential and easy to hold in strong wind. What the sail range did not have so much of was low-end power. With the AC-K we corrected this and introduced a sail which would also get planning in lighter wind but still remain stable in a wide range of wind.
The 3rd camber in the AC-k gives the sail more profile in the lower section of the sail, which adds to the stability, lift and drive in the sail. In the 2011 series we had clients who were making us aware that they found the cambers were too soft in the sails and they would like them to sit harder on the mast. We of course supply spacers to sort this out. The 2012 series we then made harder like the team like to have their sails. This for sure gives a added stability in the sail and especially in stronger wind.. We still have spacers to take out from behind the camber if you are finding the rotation too hard so there is that possibility open.
Its very difficult to satisfy everyone and to develop a product that everyone loves. We get a lot of emails from our clients with suggestions as how they would like to get their sails. We save all these mails and then make a product that is true to the P7 spirit! but integrated with as much client feedback as possible.

    questions?

Reading this thread and it is interesting productive information which we can use.
We are aware that we need to work on getting the rotation of the AC-K down to a level where it is more user friendly and not so focused on max performance. This is already implemented in the 2013 version and we are confident that you will enjoy the new rotation qualities.

    Hi,

You can use a 430 mast, but because of the mast being harder, the set-up will be less comfortable in strong wind and chop. The set-up feels less comfortable because of the mast harness. When hitting shop the mast wont bend as easy with the 430 as with the 400 and this you will feel when sailing. If you are a heavier rider, then it is possible you wont notice this so much as you have the weight to make the stiffer mast bend.
I would say, try it with the 430 and if you like the set-up then good! If you feel its not really perfect then you can always later add a 400 to your quiver

    Thank you thank you!
Was blessed with super conditions yesterday on garda! 25 knots of warms wind blowing from the south, and clear blue skies..
Lunch was enjoyed with the P7 team eating danish hotdogs, drinking cold beer and in general enjoying life... also with 38

    see you on garda!

even if out of context in this thread:
I would once again like to say that company logo's and name's are not public property and the rights holders of these should be respected at all times.

Printing your own clothing with a company logo or name if against the law.
There is no difference if it is a Chinese factory producing fake Rolex watches or a European person printing a trademark logo on a t-shirt. Its the same violation of the same law.
