What an off day for me what could have been a really nice day. First run I did I was on same size (5.6m) as the big guys, so my start went very smoot but when I wanted to hook in, i realized I simply had forgotten to put on my harness! Second attempt I simply could not hold it anymore and had to hit the brakes to avoid worse, third run I did just over 43 knots and the chop was that hard and steep that the last 50 m I cried it out from the pain on my....testicals. Never I had that before ! Then I took 2 weightvests, 15 kilo of lead on my shoulders and a 1 size smaller sail. A gust in the start made me launch perfect, it felt good untill my asymeyrical boom simply came apart from the vibrations caused by the chop. I crashed at full speed, both vests are ripped to pieces and I lost 10 kilo of lead, there on the bottom of the canal. The ambulance came to pick me up and the docter wanted to give me an injection with a painkillet, but I prefer to wait with that as long as possible I badly hurt my left biceps and right shoulder from the spinning over the water. Finished for me today and rest of the week. It was that windy that the fiberglass flagpoles simply broke of the gusts.
