JP Slalom V 2009
Bin mal gespannt ob AA nächstes Jahr die Bretter unter seinen Füßen hat
ZitatWe increased the Volume and kept the same width on the boards these are the reasons for the slightly higher volume, beside the performance difference we wanted to widen the range of use, the boards are easier to sail and this is the key for Slalom, so the higher volume is not a disadvantage it is a big advantage. These are the changes which caused the higher volume: Biggest changes took place in the outline. It is more parallel in the mid section and the tails became quite a bit wider. The straighter curve keeps the board more stable on high speed runs not letting the hitting chop interfere. The wider tail provides much better leverage and the lift of the fin can be handled easily without the nose of the board lifting. The rails received slightly fuller shoulders throughout. That additional rail volume around the mast base produces extra lift, helping the rider maintaining his speed throughout the gybe or if necessary getting on the plane again. Same changes happened in the foot strap areas resulting in a more comfortable stance allowing the rider to position his stance further out on the rail. Once again better leverage is the result. More sail power can be pushed onto the fin and convert into more speed. Specially on long distance runs will the rider appreciate these changes.
