its an older design yes but stil a good and pretty fast foil if you you know how to use it.

Speed over 50km/u is no problem for expierienced foilers

Its also a racefoil thats easyer to sail then the newer even more highend racefoils.

The iq foil mast has the most value and go's around 700€ if you find them second hand .

Fuselage go around 100€ , for the longer ones. The 95+ i have seen for sale around 50€ already.

105+ is hard to find and still intresting for people that keep the first generation starboard wings.

Front and backwings are cheap most of the time . You find them around 100 these days or less.

So for the set around 900 you will find a buyer.

If you sell in parts maybe a bit more but it takes more time maybe.

    • November 27, 2025 at 7:13 AM

am using speedsters since the last 5years for foilng.

Setup futurefly 145 and starboard carbon racefoil.

I have speedster 7,2 as biggest dail and also 5,2 .

I use the gunsails 80% carbon mast rdm 460 for the 7,2.

    Gunsails 80% carbon 400 for 5,2.

I tryed an original np mast rdm and sdm 100% from a friend are there is no difference in performance or how the sail looks when its rigged.

Gunsailsmast are perfect match ,cc with a bit flextop.

    I had a 7,2 from 2022 2023, now the 2024 and i have already a 2025 speedster model as backup sail.

I use them around 100/ 120 days per year so the dont last longer then 1 5year.

hat jemand das GSF(ab 2024) mal getestet und hat einen Vergleich zu den " grossen " Brands wie Patrik, Severne oder Pryde ?

On the french foil forum somebody ask the same question, so far not much answers.

One guy ordered the 2025 sails but has to wait till half september before he can test.

One person wrote for the 2024 model that the sails are good quality / price ratio.

    And perfect for hobby racers.

But he also wrotes if you like the best of the best for competition he thinks the big brands are what you need, but they come with a price tag also.

for windfoil 75 is still way to short i think.

Everethimg below 95cm is short if you wont a stable flight

e pace sails are working good on foil .and you can still use them on fin with the jag.

The ideal mast for the 6.6 is a 430 with a stiffness of IMCS 21. And then it’s a matter of personal preference if you go for the RDM or SDM mast. Due to the smaller diameter the RDM has a softer and more forgiving/comfortable feeling/behavior - plus the rotation gets easier as there is more „space“ between the batten ends and the (thinner) mast. With the SDM mast though the sail feels more direct/„sporty“. It’s like a sport chassis of a rally car - if you have the skill set you will be able to get more performance (low end power and v-max) from a SDM mast.

This info comes from the duotone forum, all the way on the bottom of the page from every sailtype there is a forum. The questions there are anwsered by Raoul Joa of the duotone compagny.

    i have 6,6 e pace from 2024

Mast 430 SDM. 100% carbon loftsails team edition

    32cm extension full downhaul

Boom set on 195cm and outhaul till 1cm between sail and boom, so outhaul is like 194cm

Exact like the factory settings on the sail.

Boom position between half and max height on the mast.

I always sail them on max setting loose leach

    Light or highwind.

They advertise these sails with big trim range but rotation works best on max douwnhaul setting.

But i like the e pace really good sails.

look for a board with less volume but with a width of 75cm or more..

Then you stll have the stability but not the big boat size surfboard like the 170l.

My wife is also a lightweight of 56kg and i got here a fanatic gecko , easy boards and easy to get planning if you push them enough downwind . Biggest sail is a 6,6 e pace duotone. She also has the 5,8 or my 5,2 np speedster.

for example the gecko has meausurments see below, there are other boards also in this range.

    122l and 77cm width

    135l and 79cm width

a sail as big as possible will not be the answer for more sailing on lightwind days,at least not if you like to get planning.

Your board is way to narrow and the fin to short.

9m cosmic is a top sail in lightwind yes but only with a board thats around 85cm wide .

And a long +50 cm fin..

E type from 2015, thats 10y old ?? , better to take recent e-pace , lot more power from these sails and big trim range. .

But cosmic is better in lightwind because of the 2 cams so the sail has already a shape with almost no wind.

Rotation of the 2 cams is excellent, .

If you wont a sail with no cams, lots of power and speed and also shape in no wind then you need a neilpryde speedster. The battens are placed different and with just the mast in and downhauled ,no boom you have already nice curved sail. .

gaastra used ht mast till 2017

    After they used cc

But the gaastra goldmast 100% carbon from 2014 and later where used for phantom and vapors where closer to CC curve then hardtop curve.

Thats i have from gaastra itself when asking info for my goldmast by serienumber to use it in 2020 and later sails.

The gold masts work perfect in the later sails.

    hi

    I sailed cosmics in 8,3 and mostly 9m from 2016 till 2022.

First ones where also HT mast till end of 2017 later came the CC masts .

I always used unifiber 80% HT and CC masts after 2017 and you really need the 490 masts as best option.

Camber rotation is a dream with these sails if you have the correct downhaul. There are no marks in the sail but tbey have a good open leache till battd. 4 from the top down

Outhaul just a tiny bit more than neutral.

I used the same settings in lightwind as in highwind .

Used the sails on a jp super lightwind board.

Easy to pump and super lightwind power in the sail with the 9m

    .

At the time i whas around 68kg now around 71kg

From 2020 i started foiling so didn't use the finboard much.

I used the cosmic from 2020 with a racefoil combination but moved to neil pryde speedsters from 2022. Biggest sail is now 7,2 on foil from 8 / 9kn wind.

The speedster will pump easyer on foil then the cambered racefoilsail.

Even the v8 flight i pump easyer and faster on foil with the speedster .

Topspeed is higher with racefoilsails is you have the skills .

But with the correct settings you a have fast setup with your 800 and the 8,2 speedster sail. And an easy pumping lightwind setup for your weight.

Am foccused fully on lightwind because there are more days of 10kn wind here then days of +20kn , and its amazing what you can do in so little wind after some fine tunning and a lot of houres on the water.

forgot one thing in my post before.

I also have the 105+ fuselage, the front wing sits at the same distance from the mast as with the 115 black fuse but the 1000 i dont like on the 105+. It works but the 1000 whas designd to go with the 115 fuses.

But 800 and smaller are perfect on the 105+

    hey

    Am 1,86m and also 68kg

Am also np speedsters and have 85cm. 145l. Future fly board and thr starboard race foil carbon 2020.

Also foiling only on inland lakes with gutsy winds.

Lots of lightwind days also here in belgium so between 7 and 10kn

But i like these conditions the most .

My biggest sail is a 7,2 speedster , with the 1000 milenium wing / 115 black fuse and 255 backwing i easely pump on foil in 9 to10kn wind and keep flying in 7 to 8kn without problems.

The 1000 works super with the 85cm board.

    I also have 800 ,725 and 650.

Since november am not using the 1000 so much anymore,am trying to use the 800 in the super light also.Because it has less drag and is faster , i like it more ,.

Above 12kn am already on 725fw

I can do the same with the 800 fw and 255 bw and pump on foil in 9 to 10kn wind but cant keep flying in the winddips of 7kn and lower.

1000 fw is pretty fast bu will be faster with the 8m dail you have.

Love the speedsters in lightwind because the have a nice profile already even with no cams in it. There also fast,

I tried a v8 flight in 7m and am not faster on gps then with my speedster in same conditions at the same day tested for 3h with both sails.

i have the future fly flying camel pro 145. From 2019 ,so the white board with the racing strips design first generation.

I think its even the first production board because the serienumber ends with 001.

4 years using it now ,surfing 120 to 130 days a year so thats close to 500 days in use.

Still in super conditions no cracks , just a few really small inprints on the sides from when the sail hits the board with the underside when it falls in the water and the boomouthaul part sinks completaly under water,so only the mast sleef is vissible ontop of the water .

Super board ,if i need something new i buy directly a Future fly again .

Then it would be the 160 model now because i have 85cm width on my board now .

The new red board 140 model is narrower..

Am foiling around 120 to130 days a year, so my most used sail is a 7,2. , after 2 5 years the monofilm starts to crack and the sails are ready for carbage.

Am only on a lake windfoiling so not even salt water.

My 5,2 will last hopefully 3 or when am lucky 4 years.

Only a foil is faster in the air in lightwind and keeps going in the winddips.
