Alles anzeigenI must say that some of you are hard on Manfred. OK it was windy on the Saturday but the conditions was very up and down, and the water was very messy/choppy where the wind was. I tested the course and did only around 31-32 knots.
I would say that we had a better chance to do the 4:th run on Friday, but almost all racers seemed to be happy with only 3 runs. Manfred does a VERY big effort. I think most of you that complains have no idea how much work it is to arrange an event like this.
My opinion is that you focus at the wrong things. You should support Manfred 100%, but change the rules, so all races above 28 knots will be valid. In that way the event-manager just can send us out, and afterwards the result will decide wheather the heat is valid or not.
PS My freind Daniel Borgelind sailed over 39 knots on the Friday in Orth, it is not a bad place for the DM.
Here is my personal reflections, http://www.andersbq.com/2012/0…s-about-german-speed.html
But NB, I think Manfred, Rosie & Co do a great job in general. We should be thankful for an event like this.
Thank you Anders, comments like this gives us power to go on! And your reflection is good to get better year by year.
