Glad to be around although quite unhappy for the occasion for my first post. I totally understand Patriks frustration for the timing and purpose of this decision. I also understand Cregs ( we are all windsurfers so first names ok i guess) reaction if he is really innocent. Still Craig having already admitted that the decision is late an innocent comittee should check if any members interests would be affected and weather they had enough time to adapt to the new decision before it is issued and applied. An innocent commitee should contact this member before issuing the decision and let them know and then after discussions the decision should be valid the claim Patrik did not contact us is funny to hear...you know they say 《Ceasars wife must not only be innocent but she should also look innocent》
I dont care if the plates which actually existed for soooo long do affect the performance or not the mere decision to ban them after so long makes the decision suspicious. Furthermore please explain to us why you took the decision anyway.... ( since as you say and i believe you it was not a decision against Patrik )seems to me the effort to stop any kind of new idea that whould make the sport evolve and performance improve. I totally understand it if the innovation is coming not from a member of the pwa or if it is a custom creation (which still is a bummer same as the ban of custom boards but i understand the reason)but why stop evolution?
For all i understand the batten adjustment system of the Severne sails is of a similar nature why is that allowed ?
I wish we let the sport evolve and not die in order to protect a years earnings......even if someone does come witha new idea that really demolishes thecompetition like Starboard came back in the day with the first really wide formula boards therest of the market will be a bit delayed in tahe development but they will follow if its for the better....I have been windsurfing for 35 yearsnow and itsa shock to seethis happen .....i remember so many examples in the past ....Gaastras camber inducer Neil prydes monofilm sails A.R.T. twist systems and more recently the boom cutout systems the toro tail etc.....all what was found interesting stayedand the rest dissapeared.....Sad decision very sad...
