Wenn das so sein sollte, halte ich es für absoluten Schwachsinn. Durch Events wie zb die Wave Classic Tour, die Red Bull Big Days und Soulfiles in Klitmøller wurden echt spektakuläre Bilder geboten die in diversen Medien zu betrachten waren. Leider hat die PWA nicht begriffen, dass es solche Bilder sind, die die Menschen und somit potenzielle Sponsoren begeistern und nicht Bilder von irgendwelchen Events in Catalunya und Ulsan wo eh nie Wind ist.
Das die Fahrersprecher bei so etwas mitmachen ist für mich echt nicht zu verstehen. Erinnert mich irgendwie an die VW Geschichte..... 
Nur die PWA schaufelt sich ihr eigenes Grab und merken es anscheinend nicht.
Wenn keine Top Fahrer bei anderen spektakulären Events antreten, werden diese Events auch keine neuen Sponsoren akquirieren können. Soweit so gut, nur leider haben die Verantwortlichen an diesem Punkt aufgehört zu überlegen.
Das wiederum bedeutet, der Surfsport wird immer mehr zu einer Randsportart, denn die langweiligen PWA Events haben noch nie eine Menschenseele interessiert.
Ergo, irgendwann wird es noch weniger Leute interessieren was die PWA so treibt. Deshalb wird es für die Verantwortlichen der PWA auch schwieriger neue Sponsoren zu finden. Hier schließt sich wieder der Kreis.
Und nur mal so nebenbei. Wenn die Verantwortlichen es noch nicht einmal schaffen für Pozo Sponsoren zu finden, wie soll es dann bei anderen Events klappen ?
Ich hoffe die PWA schießt sich mit der Aktion ein fettes Eigentor....

Surf-Festival Pelzerhaken
Das Surf-Festival Pelzerhaken
Nach sieben Jahren Fehmarn zieht es das Surf-Festival erstmals nach Pelzerhaken. Zwischen den beiden Top-Spots der deutschen Windsurf-Szene liegen lediglich 60 Kilometer. Von dem neuen und größeren Standort verspricht sich der Veranstalter, Europas größtes Windsurf Magazin "SURF", mehr Möglichkeiten, um das Festival auszubauen.
In den letzten Jahren hat sich der Surf-Spot Pelzerhaken an der Lübecker Bucht enorm entwickelt. Die Nähe zu Hamburg und die guten Surfbedingungen für Anfänger wie auch für Fortgeschrittene bieten beste Voraussetzungen für ein erfolgreiches Surf-Festival 2010. Außerdem wird das Tages- und das abendliche Partyprogramm an einem Ort stattfinden. Die Veranstaltungsbühne, der zentrale Punkt der Surfcity, direkt am Strand bietet Platz für Interviews, Verlosungen, einzigartige Live-Musik und vieles mehr.
Das darfst du dir also auf keinen Fall entgehen lassen! Während dem Himmelfahrtswochenende, vom 13. bis zum 16. Mai 2010, werden weit über 10.000 Surf-Fans aus ganz Europa erwartet, um das neueste Equipment kostenlos zu testen und um eine riesige Party zu feiern.
Der Windsurf Flohmarkt in Pelzerhaken
Für private Schnäppchenjäger und Sammler und alle die ihr Gebrauchtmaterial an den Mann oder an die Frau bringen wollen, gibt es erstmals während des Surf- Festivals einen Windsurf Flohmarkt.
Dieser findet am 15.05.10 in direkter Nähe des Events statt. Ausgerichtet wird der Flohmarkt durch die ansässigen Windsurfvereine „Windsurfing Club Neustadt e.V.“ und „Windsurfing Club Lübeck e.V.“.

Matt Pritchard talked with ARU-91
Matt: HI Sarah Q- welcome to Gaastra! You have been turning heads where ever you go.... Tell us a little about yourself and how you got so GOOD!!!!
Sarah-Quita: well.. my name is Sarah-Quita and I’m 18 now. I’ve been sailing since I was 9 years old. I have practiced many sports since I was little but none of them were as special as windsurfing ! My brother and I train freestyle together so we give each other tips to get better all the time. I think it’s also the rush I get from landing new moves or speeding across the water that keeps me coming back to the water for more !
Matt: I think you have figured out this competition thing- it seems to come naturally for you. What is a normal day in your life- how do you prepare yourself for competing with such authority?
Sarah-Quita: I am naturally a competitive person so I actually enjoy doing competitions. It’s hard to perform well in a heat when you’re under pressure but once it all goes well and you stick all your moves you will definitely come out of the water with a big smile on your face! Before, during and after my heats I talk to myself a lot to keep me motivated and focused but most of all I pray.
Matt: The moves you are doing now days are out of control! Who do you look up to and where do you come up with the tricks you are doing? Who are you training with?
Sarah-Quita: Since I started windsurfing I have looked up to the Bonaire guys! I love their styles on and off the water. In Aruba I train with my brother Quincy. I think continentseven.com is also a great website to keep up with what all the other sailors are doing !
Matt: So you are getting into slalom racaing!!!! Aruba was always known as a great slalom location- How much time have you spent on racing gear?
Sarah-Quita: I don’t practice slalom very often but occasionally I get a kick and just feel like being the fastest on the water hahaha. I love going into a lay down jibe at full speed and to exit at full speed again ! Because of the flat water here in Aruba it’s easier to work on jibes and perfecting my racing stance. I’ll be training more for the upcoming season though!
Matt: That is gonna be interesting to see you on the race course.... What do you expect of yourself for results? Are you gonna be bummed out if you don’t win or what is the story there?
Sarah-Quita: I’m pretty new to slalom competitions and haven’t competed yet in different conditions. I know I can do well in strong winds but I don’t know how I would do in light winds yet. In Turkey last year I made many mistakes so I was pretty bummed out when I did a bad result but the day I got it all together and won the last race I was ecstatic ! soo losing is just part of the game
Matt: What is your favorite Freestyle move and why?
Sarah-Quita:Shaka’s are awesome because you’re floating through the air. Kono’s are great when you are fully powered and just get launched in the air. You lose sense of gravity and on impact you are brought back to Reality 
Matt: Who is your favorite freestyler to watch and why?
Sarah-Quita: Like I said before I really enjoy watching the Kiri,Taty and Tonky sail. Steven has also developed a style I like very much!
Matt: Your favorite location to sail besides Aruba and why?
Sarah-Quita: Fuerteventura is a great spot to sail ! It’s a very special spot to me. I had a lot of incredible sunset sessions to remember! First of all the water is blue! The wind is a little side off shore so you can sail down the coast line. The water is flat on the inside and some nice waves breaking. Perfect for sliding and power moves!
Matt: How about your goals for 2010?
Sarah-Quita:To push windsurfing to new limits !!

John Skye joins RRD Sails.
BWA Champion John Skye will be riding with all RRD gear for 2010.
From now on, Skyeboy will not only be using RRD boards, but also sails, mast, booms, extensions and even Stand up boards. It will be a pretty exciting time for him as he will also be part of the R&D team developing all the RRD gear, as well as continuing to compete on the PWA and BWA tours as well as travel and sail as much as possible all around the world!
Skyeboy: "It has been great to be part of the RRD family for the last 18 months using their boards, so when I had the opportunity to 100% join the team I could not refuse. The gear all looks fantastic and to be involved in the development side of it too is a pretty exciting new challenge. After using the gear for the first time, I really like it and now I cant wait to get some more quality time on it."

This season, Skyeboy is planing to continue competing on the PWA, and will hoping to retain his BWA tour Title. And like always, he will be traveling the world and sailing as much as possible. Johns first mission is to join RRD boss Roberto Ricci in Cape Town to test the new wave gear.
