Just to be used as a reference being aware of the large span of personal preferences:

I wonder what you consider to be the best trim on the iSonic 133 or slalom XL boards in general in normal 10-16 knots conditions paired with sail of approx 9 sqm?

    Boom height ?
    Harness lines length?
    Mast track position?

    Thanks !

Thanks for your replu Kris. What you wrote perfectly makes sense, 10 knots sounds more realistic as minimum for PWA slalom.

Read somewhere that if the wind drops below 7 knots, the race may or shall be cancelled. Think the probabillity that the wind drops below 7 knots during a race is very large if you start out in 7 knots....

Ok, but non of the formula guys waterstart simply because their rigs around 11 sqm are way to heavy when waterfilled. They all uphaul.

Why should it be difficult to uphaul an 9,0 race sail? Due to the wobbly board?

Just a little bit curious, what is the largest sail you manage to waterstart. I havn't got larger sail than GTX 8,5 but that's quite ok to waterstart, much due to the rather narrow mast pocket it think.

Would a modern race sail on 9,0 sqm be possible to waterstart?

What is the actual minimum wind they run heats in PWA Slalom ? Officially it's said to be constant 7 knots but looking at registered equipment on competitions in 2008 (typically iSonic 133 or 122 and 9,0 as largest gear), will they really be on the plane with that combo in only 7 knots...? Would think a formula would just be on the plane in those winds, or?
