Yes you very much should! You'll be there just in the beginning of the season, and I have telked to a few surfers (because not many go here) who really found great waves i Western Sahara. On www.GoSurfAfrica.com you can read a lot abour surfing in Westerns Sahara - also around Dakhla.
On the same website, you can find "The year of surf in Africa" here you can scroll through the months of the year and find out where the swell is on in Africa in each particular month - great for surf trip planning.

There are so many popular surf destinations and that often means crowded waves even on shitty days.
But in Africa you'll find great waves with hardly no crowds. Well sometimes you can even have world class waves all to yourself.
The reason for this is, that many doesn't even consider Africa as a surfing destinations. But you will find waves all around the coasts of Africa. You'll even have camps in Senegal, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Mozambique, Madagascar and of course Morocco and South Africa.
Lots have changed in Africa in the resent years, and it is now possible to travel safe and cheap.
