Point 7 AC1 mit C75-Mast?

    Hallo (vor allem Dennis),


    ich möchte mir heuer statt dem 7,7er AC 2 ein 7,9er AC 1 kaufen. Leider habe ich mir erst letztes Jahr zum AC 2 den dazupassenden Point 7 C-75 Mast in 460 gekauft, den ich nun nicht unbedingt in die Ecke stellen möchte.
    Wie wird der C 75 im AC 1 funktionieren? Wie groß sind die Abstriche zum C 100?


    Ich bin Freizeitracer, brauche also nicht die letzten 3% Leistung, aber das Segel sollte schon gut funktionieren und der Mast sollte die verfügbare Windrange nicht einschränken. Ich würde das Segel mit einem Isonic 122 bei 4 bis mittleren 6 Bft. fahren, also das was man auf dem Gardasee bei Ora hat. Es muss also auch vor dem Pier zu halten sein.

    Is it a c-7 from last year, a 2009 mast that you have? (made by Imac)
    If it is then there will not be any problems with using the mast.The carbon content and quality of the carbon is exactly the same as on the C-1 / C100+. The difference between the two masts is that on the C-7 / C80+ there is a added layer of glas which gives extra protection to the mast. This glas-layer makes the mast a little slower, but it will not change so much on the sail performance. For Garda your sail and board will be a very good combination. I am about 72-75 kg and I am always on AC-1 7.2 with a 111 or 101 i-sonic, so if you are a little heavier then 7.9 will be good.

    super, ich habe nachgesehen, es ist genau der C 7 von Imac. Ist der C 7 auch nicht dicker als der C 100 (Camberrotation)?
    Sind die AC 1 in 7,9 im Shop in Torbole lagernd oder ist es besser zu bestellen (ich fahre nämlich zu Ostern runter)?

    Hallo Dennis,
    ich bin mittlerweile schon viel mit dem AC 1 7,9 und dem C7-Mast in 460 aus 2009 gefahren und bin sehr zufrieden. Nur die Camberrotation würde ich mir noch besser wünschen, sie rotieren erst dann voll durch wenn wirklich voller Wind ins Segel bläst, oft erst nachdem ich wieder voll im Gleiten bin. Zug am Vorliek sollte reichen, ich ziehe bei der auf 36 cm eingestellten Verlängerung das Vorliek ganz hinunter (laut Aufdruck am Segel Vorliek 495, die schönen Dreiecke auf der Masttasche hat das AC 1 ja wohl nicht:D).
    Was könnte ich trimmmäßig noch verbessern? Lattenspannung? Spacer?

    Hallo Werner,


    The AC-1 being a full race sail, it does have a lot of pressure on the cambers. The sail is constructed this way to make the profile as ridged as possible for when sailng in hard conditions. As you write; in good wind the sail rotates. However many 'hobby' racers including myself, then dont take the sail into strong conditions only, but also use the sails on lighter wind days.
    So what you can do is to take out some of the pressure on the cambers, to make the sail more user-friendly. What I suggest, is that the side of the camber that is resting against the sail body; you use some sandpaper and grind of 1-2mm. But only on the 1-2 hardest cambers and then try the sail again. This will take out some tension without making the profile too soft. This is not adding to the top performance of the sail, but makes it more user friendly and easier to handle in the jibes.
    I have also attached a short profile on how to trim the battens and so.

    ich wollte nur wissen, ob ich am Trimm noch etwas machen soll, um das Optimum zu erreichen. Ich werde vorerst nicht schleifen, nachdem ich ja nun weiß dass das mit den Camber systembedingt ist.

    muss aber passen, ein AC1 liegt noch in malcesine (oder so...) hol ich mir erst ostern ab.
    im moment fahr ich nur das 5,8er Sado, also nix zum racen... und für 5,8 wirds eher ned reichen morgen.
