So far this year we have seen the slalom and freestyle fleets in action and now it’s finally time for the world’s most radical sailors to take centre stage as both the men’s and women’s wave fleets head to Pozo for the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival, which kicks off tomorrow and runs until the 9th July.

Pozo Izquierdo is internationally famed in the windsurfing world due to its unrelenting wind and steep waves. The combination of these two factors creates the perfect playground for the world’s most extreme sailors to defy gravity and perform the biggest stunts on the planet. The local effects mean that even the slightest breeze can soon be accelerated to nuclear strength, with the wind peaking at around fifty knots. Don’t be surprised to see even the biggest guys reaching for the smallest equipment available, as Pozo looks to separate the men from the boys and the women from the girls.

Massive action in Pozo - Philip Köster

    Ones to Watch

    Women’s

The women’s division looks as though we’ll see another epic battle between the legendary Moreno twins — Daida Ruano Moreno (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) and Iballa Ruano Moreno (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) — who have dominated the top 2 for the past 15 years and neither of them look like slowing down any time soon. The last two seasons have seen Iballa pip Daida to the overall title, but Daida will still be favourite heading into the first battle of the year having only lost once in Pozo in 15 year, which was to Iballa in 2012. Both of the girls possess world class jumping with huge stalled forward, pushloops and one-handed backloops in their bag of tricks, while Daida also pulled off a double forward during last year’s expression session. The battle between the twins promises to be as intriguing as ever and it seems like a very large ask to anyone to defeat them such is their dominance.

Reigning World Champion - Iballa Moreno

However, Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins), may have different plans. The Aruban gem has made an encouraging transition into the waves and earned her maiden podium last year in only her second season in the wave division. Offringa is fiercely competitive and with 8 freestyle world titles and 2 slalom world titles to her name you would not bet against her being able to cause an upset.

    Sarah-Quita Offringa

Amanda Beenen (99NoveNove / Point-7) - will be raring to go again with her aggressive, no fear approach capable of causing anyone problems. Beenen narrowly misses out on the overall podium in 2015 and you can expect to see her coming out with all guns blazing as she looks to make a positive start to the year. Expect to see big forwards, table top forwards and some seriously tasty turns as she looks to achieve a place on the podium.

    Amanda Beenen

You can also expect to see a big performance from Steffi Wahl (Patrik / Sailloft Hamburg) who is one of the most consistent performers on the tour. Wahl always impresses with her stylish wave riding and has now added backloops to her jumping. A place in the top five looks a certainty for a competitor who thrives in the competitive ring.

    Steffi Wahl

Elsewhere, keep an eye out for Alice Arutkin (Fanatic / North), who finished 3rd overall in 2015, however Pozo is not the French beauties strongest event and you can expect to see bigger performances from her later in the year, Justyna Sniady (Simmer / Simmer), who has now perfected forwards and backloops and could be a real danger. Caterina Stenta (RRD / RRD / Maui Ultra Fins), who appears to progressing all the time and also the emerging talents of Lina Erpenstein (Patrik / Sailloft Hamburg / Maui Ultra Fins) — who will be fresh from a winter of training in Western Australia and Maui — and last but not least 17 year old Nicole Bandini (Fanatic / North) — who has aspirations of breaking into the top 5 come the end of the year.

    Justyna Sniady

    Men’s

Philip Köster (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) will enter the opening event of the year as the favourite after claiming a 3rd world title last year at the age of just 22. Köster grew up in Gran Canaria and so far the German has proven almost unbeatable on home waters having already claimed 4 event victories here and it is going to take a monumental effort to dethrone him. Expect to see ankle-dry double forward, pushloop forwards and if the conditions allow we may even see him pull the triple loop trigger again as he looks to make the perfect start to the season in a quest for a 4th world title.

    Philip Köster

Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / North / MFC) is consistently one of the top performers in the world and he finished last year as the vice-world champion, agonisingly missing out on a 2nd world crown on count back to Philip Köster — having finished the season level on 6,234 points. The Spaniard is a Pozo specialist and has not finished outside the top three since 2008, so looks a sure fire bet to be challenging for top honours again. You are almost guaranteed a big performance from Fernandez and he will not be far away come the end of the week.

    Victor Fernandez

Jaeger Stone (Starboard / Severne) has made an impressive return to the PWA Wave World Tour — after taking a break for a couple of years to complete his studies and recover from injury — and last year saw the Australian deservedly earn a place on the overall podium for the first time in his career. Stone consistently earns the highest wave riding scores heat-by-heat and he’ll be even more dangerous than before if he’s able to start stomping doubles — particularly in the latter stages of the event. The 25 year old finished 6th here last year and could easily go further this time around as he goes in search of a maiden world title.

    Jaeger Stone

2015 PWA Wave World Champion — Thomas Traversa (Tabou / GA Sails) — finished 4th overall last year and he’ll be on a mission to regain his world crown. On paper Pozo may not the TT’s favourite event, but he managed an excellent 5th place here last year and you’d think he’d be there or there abouts again. Traversa arrived early in Pozo this year to make sure he’s raring to go when the green flag goes up and has apparently been perfecting his double forwards, which would make him an even bigger threat. Traversa also possesses some of the silkiest wave riding in the world and as a result has the capability to take down anyone.

    Thomas Traversa

Alex Mussolini (RRD / RRD) completed the podium in Pozo in 2015 with his repertoire of jumping and fluid wave riding doing the damage. The Spaniard finished last season in 6th overall and you can expect to see more stunning one-hand, one-foot backloops and frontside 3s as he looks to make a strong start to the season.

    Alex Mussolini

Marcilio Browne (Goya Windsurfing / MFC) will be looking to write the record straight after a disappointing performance, by his high standards, here last year when the Brazilian had to settle for joint 13th. Browne has earned one wave world title so far and seems hungry for more and you can expect to see a polished display. Brawzinho is one of the sailors with perfect double forwards on tap and by the looks of it the 27 year old has added pushloop forwards to his repertoire as well as training shifties. If everything falls into place Browne will be a serious contender for both the event and overall title.

    Marcilio Browne

Robby Swift (JP / NeilPryde / Mystic / SWOX) enjoyed another successful season last year with 4 top 10 performances from 5 events. The Brit usually sails well in Pozo and has one of the best pushloop forwards in the business, which will make him a real danger and at a minimum you’d expect to see him record top 10 finish with the possibility of going much further.

    Robby Swift

Dany Bruch (Starboard / AL360) secured 4th place here in 2015 — 9th overall — and if the German can replicate that form he will once again be in the thick of the action.

    Dany Bruch

Klaas Voget (Fanatic / North / MFC) completed the overall top 10 last year and with his competition experience he is always a danger. However, with the emphasis on jumping in Pozo the German’s best performances may come at later events in the year.

    Klaas Voget

Outside of last year’s top 10 there’s an almost never ending list of sailors who are more than capable of beating anyone on their day such is the standard of sailing on tour at the moment. First and foremost the Pozo locals with be a major threat with the likes of Alessio Stillrich (Fanatic / North) — who has taken his sailing to another level again — Moritz Mauch (Severne / Severne / MFC) — who possess some of the best wave moves in the world. The only question mark will be with his jumping, Josep Pons (Simmer), who is one of the best jumpers in the world, Aleix Sanllehy (Tabou / GA Sails) and of course Dario Ojeda (99NoveNove / Challenger Sails) who earned back-to-back podiums here in 2011 and 2012.

    Alessio Stillrich

Also the likes of Jules Denel (JP / NeilPryde), Leon Jamaer (JP / NeilPryde), Adam Lewis (Fanatic / North / SWOX) and Antoine Martin (JP / NeilPryde) will all be pushing for a place in the top 10 with the latter landing pushloops and backloops off the lip in the build up to the event.

    Antoine Martin

Unfortunately the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival has come a little too soon for Ricardo Campello (Patrik / Point-7 / MFC), who suffered a serious foot injury in April. Campello finished 5th overall in 2015 and his radical approach to sailing will be sorely missed. Everyone hopes to see him fighting fit for Tenerife and we wish him a continued successful recovery.

    Ricardo Campello

The forecast looks a bit lighter on the forecast for the opening couple of days before kicking in strong from midweek, which should lead to plenty of mouthwatering action. Make sure you tune intowww.pwaworldtour.com from the 3rd-9th July to see all of the gravity defying stunts as they happen via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

The opening day of the 2016 Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival saw the sailors registering for the upcoming week of competition between 9:30am and 11am before the first skippers’ meeting of the week was held at 12:30pm.

The wind was present from the word go, but unfortunately the waves dropped during the afternoon with the high tide meaning the pro’s remained on standby today. However, there was some action during the afternoon as the Youth’s took centre stage for the first time this week.

    Youth's - Class of 2016

The Youth’s contest was split into 3 separate categories:
    — 12-13 year olds
    — 14-15 year olds
    — 16-18 year olds

In the 12 and 13 year old category Marino Gil (Goya Windsurfing) stole the show as he threw down a sick tabletop forward and a planing backloop and he will not meet Sugi Takuma (Naish), Jose Antonio Casanova Perez (North) and Liam Dunkerbeck (Severne) in a 4-man final, which will be held tomorrow if conditions allow.

    Marino Gil

Meanwhile, Miguel Chapuis (NeilPryde) came out on top in the opening 14 and 15 years old heat as the Spaniard combined a shuvit and a stylish forward with a 7 point wave ride to finish ahead of Mike Friedl (Goya Windsurfing), who stomped a sick tabletop forward.

    Miguel Chapuis

In Heat 2 Valentino Pasquale (North) caught the eye of the judges with his wave riding in particular setting him apart. The Argentinian recorded the highest single wave score of the day — earning 8.5 points, while Adam Warchol (Goya Windsurfing) also progressed.

    Adam Warchol

Heat 1 of the 16-18 year olds saw Loick Lesauvage (Goya Windsurfing) and Juliann Salmonn (Severne / Severne) use there previous event experience to successfully advance, while Noah Vocker (Fanatic / North / Maui Ultra Fins) looked the most impressive as he landed a perfect one-handed backloop.

    Noah Vocker

The fight for the remaining qualifying place saw a close battle between Max Schettewi (JP / Hot Sails Maui) and Tim van dam Sanchidrian (Starboard / Flight Sails) — in the Schettewi was given the verdict by way of a 2:1 decision.

    Max Schettewi sneaks through

The forecast for tomorrow predicts slightly less wind and smaller waves so the pro fleet may well remain on hold again, but there will hopefully be enough to complete the Youth’s. The forecast from Thursday onwards looks excellent with strong winds and waves just under 2 metres being predicted, which should lead to a fascinating contest. The sailors will meet again tomorrow morning at 10am with the action commencing from 10:30am (GMT+1) if conditions allow. Make sure you tune into www.pwaworldtour.com from the 3rd-9th July to see all of the gravity defying stunts as they happen via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

The second day of the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival saw the Youth’s take centre stage again in the late afternoon and the next generation showed that windsurfing is in safe hands for the future with a solid display of sailing.

    The next generation

Marino Gil (Goya Windsurfing) shone again today as the 13 year old claimed a deserved victory in the opening youth’s final. Gil landed a fully planing forward off the beach after a sail change and linked together the wave of the day — consisting of two backside airs and one fluid frontside hit to earn 8.5-9 points from the judges to see off Takuma Sugi (Naish), who claimed 2nd with a back and forward loop, while Liam Dunkerbeck (Starboard / Severne) completed the opening podium of the week.

    Marino Gil

In the 14-15 year old category Miguel Chapuis (JP / NeilPryde) came out on top as he landed a planing forward and a couple of powerful frontside snaps to see off Valentino Pasquale (North) — who was his closest rival in 2nd place followed by Adam Warchol (Goya Windsurfing) and Mike Friedl (Goya Windsurfing).

    Miguel Chapuis

Noah Vocker Roche (Fanatic / North / Maui Ultra Fins) built on a solid performance yesterday to secure the top spot on the podium in the 16-18 year old category. The 16 year old opened proceedings with a stylish backloop before adding an 8 point forward and 6 point wave ride to his scoresheet. Meanwhile, Loick Lesauvage (Goya Windsurfing) claimed a clear 2nd ahead of Juliann Salmonn (Severne / Severne), who was missing a good second jump to complete his scoresheet.

    Noah Vocker Roche

The sailors in the qualifying round for the main draw were released shortly after the completion of the youth’s with the waves not improving sufficiently to begin.

The forecast for tomorrow looks similar to today so the youth’s may well be given more opportunity to show what they are capable of with another elimination. The sailors will meet again tomorrow morning at 10am with the action commencing from 10:30am (GMT+1) if conditions allow. Make sure you tune intowww.pwaworldtour.com from the 3rd-9th July to see all of the gravity defying stunts as they happen via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

  • Day 3 of the Gran Canaria Wind & Wave Festival saw a break in the competition with Pozo Izquierdo flattening out with the tide. At around midday an attempt was made to run the Youth’s but the heat was cancelled after only 5 minutes, due to the conditions deteriorating.

    Pozo

Correction to advancing number of sailors from qualifying round:

With the competitors remaining on hold for the majority of the day we decided to take a look at the men’s qualifying round, which will see 12 sailors competing for the remaining 4 places in the main draw. The winner of each heat will progress followed by 1 more sailor progressing from a final heat consisting of the 2nd place finishers.

The first qualifying heat will see 3 aspiring youth’s Marc Paré (99NoveNove / Simmer / Maui Ultra Fins) 18, against Julian Salmonn (Severne / Severne) 19 and Jake Schettewi (JP / Hot Sails Maui) 15, against the more experienced Eric Sanllehy (Goya Windsurfing). However, Sanllehy, will not have an easy route into the main draw with Paré finishing 3rd here in the Youth’s last year and has apparently progressed significantly again over the winter, while Julian Salmonn almost defeated Philip Köster (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) in Tenerife last year.

    Marc Paré

The second heat will see 2 Pozo locals pitted against the youthful talents of Loick Lesauvage (Goya Windsurfing) 16, and Arthur Arutkin (Fanatic / North) 19, who both successfully qualified for the main draw last year via the trials. However, they will face a stern test if they wish to make the main draw this time around with Ceballos a previous event winner and someone who has also been ranked as high as 3rd overall in the world. Both he and Eleazar Alonso (Starboard / Severne) will be able to use their extensive local knowledge to their advantage, but the heat promises to be an intriguing battle against two up and coming sailors.

    Loick Lesauvage

The final qualifying heat sees Kenneth Danielsen (Simmer) going against Federico Morisio (Quatro / Goya Windsurfing / MFC), Markus Rydberg (Simmer / Simmer) and Nicolas Akgazciyan (99NoveNove / Challenger Sails / Maui Ultra Fins). Danielsen is probably the favourite for the third qualifying heat and the Dane enters the event off the back of a brilliant result obtained in Denmark last year — when the 32 year old sailed superbly to claim 6th place. If he sails anywhere near that that level then he should comfortably progress into the main draw. Meanwhile, Rydberg, has been in Pozo for a couple of months and has recovered from a shoulder injury that originally hampered his preparation for the event and the Swede is raring to go. Akgazciyan, who finished 4th overall in freestyle last year, will be a major threat and you can expect to see doubles, backloops and shiftys as he looks to claim his place in the single elimination, while Federico Morisio is fresh from his winter training in Cape Town, South Africa, and it will be interesting to see how his level has progressed since last year.

    Nicolas Akgazciyan

The forecast for tomorrow predicts slightly more wind than today, which will hopefully allow the action on the water to resume, while Thursday onwards still look solidly windy. The sailors will once again meet at 10am with the action commencing from 10:30am (GMT+1) — if conditions allow. Make sure you tune intowww.pwaworldtour.com from the 3rd-9th July to see all of the gravity defying stunts as they happen via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

Day 4 of the Gran Canaria Wind & Waves Festival saw the waiting game continue for the men’s and women’s pro fleets, so it was once again left to the next generation to provide the show, which they duly obliged to do. At the end of the fourth day the second single eliminations for the Youth’s have been completed and attention will now start to turn towards tomorrow, which will hopefully see the pro’s begin their contests.

    Daida Moreno warming up

    12-13 Year Olds Final

Marino Gil (Goya Windsurfing) claimed back-to-back victories in the youngest division of the youth’s as the 13 year old saw off the competition of Takuma Sugi (Naish), Liam Dunkerbeck (Starboard / Severne) and Jose Antonio Casanova Perez (Fanatic / North). Gil made a brilliant start as he landed a perfect backloop to earn 8 points and from there no-one could catch him. Gil’s closest challenger was, who Sugi claimed 2nd ahead of Casanova Perez and Dunkerbeck, who pushed his level today as the 12 year old launched into his first backloop attempts.

    Marino Gil proves unstoppable

    14-15 Year Olds Final

Valentino Pasquale (Fanatic / North) claimed victory to overtake Miguel Chapuis (JP / NeilPryde) in the current overall standings for the 14-15 year olds. The conditions were extremely difficult during the final, but it was Pasquale who managed to make the better of the waves while landing a backloop and forward loop. Chapuis sits in 2nd place with Henry Kolberg (Hot Sails Maui) moving into joint 3rd with Mike Friedl (Goya Windsurfing) after qualifying for the final today.

    Valentino Pasquale

    16-18 Year Olds Final

Noah Vocker Roche (Fanatic / North / Maui Ultra Fins) made a flying start to the final as he landed a fully planing forward and a clean, stylish backloop to claim a healthy, early lead. However, Loick Lesauvage (Goya Windsurfing) soon began to hit back as he stomped a stalled forward and a big backloop. At this stage the final was quite close and in the end Vocker Roche and Lesauvage finished level on 19 points. However, it was Lesauvage who walks away with the victory today due to his more dynamic rail-to-rail wave riding which earned him the highest single wave score. As things stand Vocker Roche and Lesauvage share the lead with Max Honchgrassl (JP / NeilPryde) occupying the final place on the podium.

Loick Lesauvage fights back to level it up

The forecast for tomorrow promises more wind than today, so the sailors will be reaching for their small sails and boards. The waves are forecast to be slightly bigger tomorrow although the period is predicted to be shorter at between 5-7 seconds, so we will have to wait and see how the day materialises. The skippers’ meeting has been called for 9:30am tomorrow morning with the action commencing from 10am (GMT+1) — If conditions allow. Make sure you tune into www.pwaworldtour.com from the 3rd-9th July to see all of the gravity defying stunts as they happen via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

  • Es läuft gerade der Livestream, es scheint ordentlich zu ballern :)

Man denkt echt man ist im falschen Film, wenn man mit 3,5 voll überpowert ist und das Board im Chop nur hin- und herzappelt. So krass. Wie kann man da noch kontrolliert springen?

  • Pozo lived up to its reputation today as one of the windiest places in Europe — if not the world — as the pros were finally unleashed having spent the opening four days on hold. Throughout the day the wind steadily increased until all the sailors were left reaching for their smallest gear in order to survive as winds exceeding 50 knots battered Pozo Izquierdo — leading to a day of brilliant action as the world’s best sailors seemingly defied gravity.

    Women’s

Having advanced through the second round Alice Arutkin (Fanatic / North) faced Sarah-Quita Offringa (Starboard / NeilPryde / Maui Ultra Fins) in Heat 13a, while Lina Erpenstein (Patrik / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) was rewarded with a stern test against reigning world champion — Iballa Moreno (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) — for defeating Caterina Stenta (RRD / RRD / Maui Ultra Fins) in the first round.

Offringa, who finished 3rd overall last year, made her intentions clear from the start and the lady from Aruba claimed an emphatic victory as she landed a brilliant pushloop to earn 9.38 points and 6.25 point tabletop to ensure her place in the semifinal. Arutkin was able to earn a higher individual wave score, but was unable to find an answer to Offringa’s aerial prowess.

Meanwhile, Iballa Moreno, ended Erpenstein’s hopes in the single elimination with a polished display. The reigning world champion saw off her German rival by stomping a radical pushloop and stalled forward, while showing her usual fluidity and style on the wave and Iballa will now face Offringa in the semifinals.

In the second quarterfinal Amanda Beenen (99NoveNove / Point-7) and Steffi Wahl (Patrik / Sailloft Hamburg) enjoyed an incredibly close heat, but in the end it was Beenen who advanced into the semifinal. Wahl made the better of the waves on offer while fully powered on 3.0m, but Beenen gained the upper-hand with her jumping ability carrying her through. Beenen stomped a tabletop forward and a stalled forward to secure victory.

Daida Moreno (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) has only been beaten once here in her life and she showed why in Heat 14b against Justyna Sniady (Simmer / Simmer) as she racked up the highest score of the day with 26 points. Daida is clearly on a mission to reclaim her world title and she sent out a serious warning to her rivals as she rotated through a massive, perfectly landed backloop and a stalled forward, while pulling off stylish backside airs and attempting goiters on the wave to progress.

    Men’s

The men’s single elimination began with a bang as local boy Josep Pons Casanova (Simmer / Simmer) took down Klaas Voget (Fanatic / North / MFC) in the opening heat as his superb array of jumping inflicted the damage. Meanwhile, Dieter van der Eyken (Starboard / Severne) pushed Dany Bruch (Starboard / Flight Sails / AL360) all the way on the b-side with the Belgian missing out by just half a point, but Bruch’s stunning one-handed, one-footed backloop proved to be the difference. The German then went on to defeat Pons Casanova in Heat 9 to secure his place in the quarterfinals.

In the b-side of Heat 10 Alessio Stillrich (Fanatic / North) produced a couple of the standout moments of the day, but suffered a narrow defeat to Jaeger Stone (Starboard / Severne). The local boy became the first person to land a Klei in competition — a move invented by Alex Mussolini (RRD / RRD) — before launching into the biggest jump of day which saw him soar way above horizon as he boosted into a huge backloop, but unfortunately he couldn’t quite hold on to the landing. Had the 21 year old been able to land it then he would probably have defeated Stone, who's wave riding once again stood out today. The Australian needed a last minute wave to defeat Julien Taboulet (Goya Windsurfing) in the first round, but is now safely into the quarters.

Alessio Stillrich getting lost in the clouds

Heat 10 featured Victor Fernandez (Fanatic / North / MFC) and Marcilio Browne (Goya Windsurfing / MFC), both of whom are expected to be fighting it out at the business end of the competition. Fernandez safely navigated his way past Florian Jung (RRD / Gun Sails / Maui Ultra Fins) as he stomped a huge stalled forward and a fully planing goiter to advance, while Browne had to be at the top of his game to defeat Jules Denel (JP / NeilPryde), who sailed superbly in both of his heats today. The Frenchman actually matched Browne in the air but couldn’t quite find the wave he needed, so there will now be a mouthwatering quarterfinal between Browne and Fernandez.

    Victor Fernandez flying high

Heat 11a saw an all French affair as the 2014 PWA Wave World Champion — Thomas Traversa (Tabou / GA Sails) — took on Antoine Martin (JP / NeilPryde / MFC) in what proved to be another exceptionally close heat with less than half a point separating the two sailors. Traversa raced into an early lead by landing a 9 point double forward, but Martin soon hit back as he landed the only pushloop forward of the day to earn 9.77 points. However, it is TT who marches on after making the better of the waves on offer. Meanwhile, Alex Mussolini (RRD / RRD), dispatched of Leon Jamaer (JP / NeilPryde) — who was unlucky enough to suffer a broken mast, costing him valuable time — but the Spaniard was a worthy as he showed off more of his trademark frontside 3s and silky smooth takas.

    Thomas Traversa mid double

The final men’s heat of the day saw reigning world champion Philip Köster (Starboard / Severne / Maui Ultra Fins) in action again and the German made another explosive start to the heat — just as he did in Heat 8 — by launching into an ankle dry double forward to earn 9.87 points, before quickly adding an excellent wave to his scoresheet — consisting of a perfectly executed frontside 360 and a smooth taka — to immediately put Adam Lewis (Fanatic / North) under pressure. Lewis deserves a lot of credit for the way he forced his way back into the heat as he landed a double forward of his own and a huge one-footed backloop to bring himself back into contention. The Brit was also able to land a radical frontside 360 of his own, but it wasn’t enough to overhaul Köster, who will now face another British opponent in the form of Robby Swift (JP / NeilPryde / Mystic / SWOX), who added that today was the windiest he has ever sailed Pozo, after he ended the hopes of Camille Juban (Quatro / Simmer / MFC).

    Philip Köster

After a scintillating day of competition the sailors were released at 7pm and they will meet again tomorrow morning for a 9:30am skippers’ meeting with the action commencing from 10am (GMT+1) — if conditions allow. The forecast looks equally as windy tomorrow and the waves are expected to be slightly bigger than today, which should provide a cracking finale to the single eliminations before the start of the doubles. Make sure you tune intowww.pwaworldtour.com to follow the amazing action as it happens via the PWA live stream and live ticker.

  • Köster hat sich scheinbar aua getan und kann vll nicht mehr mitmachen:

    11:48
Latest from Koester is that he felt a twinge in his back while down hauling his sail and then landed a jump flat while sailing, which has left him in serious pain and discomfort breathing. The 3-time world champion is currently being looked over by the doctors.
