Windsurfing Euro-Cup Torbole/Lake Garda to open Euro-Cup Tour 2015
The Windsurfing Euro-Cup office proudly announces the addition of another event to the 2015 tour calendar. The Windsurfing Euro-Cup Torbole will open this years circuit of the continental windsurfing tour. From April 23rd to 26th the slalom elite is invited to the beautiful village Torbole at the north of Italys famous Lake Garda.
„I am very happy that the Circolo Surf Torbole and the association of sailing clubs managed to push this Windsurfing Euro-Cup forward. The CST has a long lasting experience in international regattas. Lake Garda has a very lively competition scene and the venue is great. Located in the middle of Europe the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Torbole can be a big kick-off for the competition season in Europe.“ says Matthias Regber from the Windsurfing Office.
Lake Garda is one of the most famous windsurfing spots in the world. Thousands of windsurfers are travelling to the Lake in the north of Italy every year. The location at the base of the Alps creates great conditions for thermical wind. Especially in Spring when the snow is still on the mountains while the sun is heating up the northern Italian earth you always have a wind guarantee. From 12:00 to 16:00 the famous Ora wind is blowing warm air with 15 to 20 knots. About 20 degrees air and 16 to 17 degrees water temperature provide convenient conditions at the end of April.
Torbole is one of the few real windsurfing vilages in the world. When you enter the town you are immidiately captured by the great atmosphere and will feel like home. The Circolo Surf Torbole is known as a great host for competitions and will put big efforts into the Windsurfing Euro-Cup. A prize money pot of € 5.000,00 will make the event even more interesting.
„We are looking forward to welcome the elite of the slalom racers in Torbole. At the end of April you can expect great slalom conditions in Torbole. We plan to deliver a perfect regatta and infrastructure to the competitors.“ says Chiara Risatti from the Circolo Surf Torbole.
The Windsurfing Euro-Cup is the official IFCA Slalom European Championship series.
